Soliton

Soliton kavrami, Ingilizce dilindeki vikipedi’de kullanilmistir. Orada bu kavramla ilgili söyle denir:

In mathematics and physics, a soliton is a self-reinforcing solitary wave (a wave packet or pulse) that maintains its shape while it travels at constant speed. Solitons are caused by a cancellation of nonlinear and dispersive effects in the medium. (The term "dispersive effects" refers to a property of certain systems where the speed of the waves vary according to frequency.) Solitons arise as the solutions of a widespread class of weakly nonlinear dispersive partial differential equations describing physical systems.

The soliton phenomenon was first described by John Scott Russell (1808–1882) who observed a solitary wave in the Union Canal in Scotland. He reproduced the phenomenon in a wave tank and named it the "Wave of Translation".

Soliton's Blog

Today I've had to work with a cluster made of QEMU-KVM and using QCOW2 as storage format for VM disk.
It's a cool platform for hosting VM; it's Linux based, so if anything doesn't work I (and those who knows) can go deeply inside the system and find the reason.
But it's not as easy as you can think... I came from VMWare world, where everything is deeply tested (I hope) and easy to do.
My problem now was to find a way to make "hot" backups of VM running with QCOW2 disks.

Soliton (Chris Corsano and Jenny Gräf) | Live Blog | Tiny Mix Tapes

Soliton — a recent collaboration between Chris Corsano and Jenny Gräf — played the only set of this particular event to an audience sitting on red velvet stools beneath still-in-Saigon ceiling fans: a Sunday night’s light entertainment, short and, as they say, sweet. Well, sweet may not the most apt of descriptions for the sounds, but it might be apt enough for the warm feelings induced in my innards. And I say short, though I don’t really know; the sense of time passing
